Peacock Football Guide 2025-26 — Premier League US Rights

Peacock holds NBC's Premier League rights for the United States. Editorial guide to what UK viewers should know and how the US deal compares to UK broadcast arrangements.

Peacock is NBCUniversal’s streaming service in the United States. The platform holds Premier League rights for the US through a deal that extends through 2027-28. UK viewers cannot subscribe to Peacock from outside the United States; the service is geo-restricted to US-based IP addresses.

This page covers what Peacock offers, why it matters to UK readers researching how Premier League rights split internationally, and what the US-UK rights split looks like in practice.

What football is on Peacock

Peacock carries every Premier League match in the United States. The full 380-match season streams on Peacock Premium, the paid tier of the service. Selected matches simulcast on NBC’s linear channels (USA Network, NBC, NBC Sports) for traditional cable subscribers.

Beyond the Premier League, Peacock holds other rights including Premier League Mornings (the matchday studio show), pre and post-match analysis, and the Friday-night NBC Soccer broadcast featuring archive content.

Peacock does not carry Champions League, Europa League, or any other UEFA club football. Those US rights sit with CBS and Paramount+.

Peacock pricing and access

Peacock has two paid tiers. Peacock Premium at $7.99 a month carries advertisements during streaming. Peacock Premium Plus at $13.99 a month removes most ads and adds offline downloads. Both tiers include the full Premier League slate.

The free Peacock tier does not include Premier League matches. US users without a paid subscription cannot stream live Premier League fixtures.

UK users abroad in the US can subscribe to Peacock during their stay, but the subscription terminates on UK return due to billing-address geo-checks.

How Peacock’s deal compares to UK rights

Peacock’s US Premier League deal is a single-broadcaster arrangement: every match, all 380 fixtures, on one platform. The UK arrangement splits across Sky Sports (215 matches) and TNT Sports (52 matches), with the 3pm Saturday blackout removing roughly 113 matches from any UK live broadcast.

US viewers therefore have access to more total Premier League fixtures than UK viewers despite the league being a domestic UK competition. The blackout exists to protect lower-league attendance and does not apply outside the UK.

Peacock pays significantly less per match than Sky Sports. NBC’s cost-per-match is approximately one-tenth of Sky’s, reflecting smaller US viewership and the broadcaster’s role as a US sports complement rather than a primary purchase driver.

What Peacock does not have

Peacock holds no rights to FA Cup, EFL Championship, League One, or League Two matches. Those rights in the United States sit elsewhere or are unavailable.

International tournaments featuring England (FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship) air on Fox in the US, not Peacock.

Frequently asked questions

Can UK viewers subscribe to Peacock? No. Peacock is geo-restricted to the United States. Account creation requires a US billing address and the platform blocks streams from non-US IPs.

Is Peacock cheaper than Sky Sports for Premier League? Yes, in absolute terms. Peacock Premium at $7.99 a month converts to roughly £6.50; Sky Sports via NOW costs £34.99 a month. The catch is geographic restriction.

Does Peacock air Champions League? No. CBS and Paramount+ hold US Champions League rights through the 2029-30 season.

What happens to Peacock’s Premier League rights after 2027-28? The US Premier League rights cycle for 2028-29 onwards has not been finalised. NBC and Peacock are favourites to retain rights given the existing infrastructure and viewership.

For UK Premier League access, see Sky Sports and TNT Sports. The US MLS rights sit with Apple TV globally.
